Cary Brothers

I know, once again, I'm behind the times in music. I've actually known about this guy for a while now, but am just starting to get into him. I think the creation of the ipod is wonderful. Now that I have one, I'm finding myself listening to a lot more music than I used to. I never listen to music unless I'm in the car (which, now I don't turn on the radio b/c I'd rather talk to Jae) so I only listen to it on my way to work after dropping off the kids and on my way home..a total of about 30 min a day!

Anyway, since I've gotten my ipod, Bill and I have downloaded all of our cd's and I've also downloaded some additional music thanks to handy dandy gift cards.

So I've been following this guy on MySpace for a while and I like his sound, but since I only listen to music every now and then, I never really paid attention.

So I'm sitting at work and I've got the ipod on shuffle and the song "Ride" comes on and I realize that I really like it! For those of you who have watched the movie "Garden State - the song Blue Eyes" will probably recognize his voice. If you are a fan of Joshua Radin, you will know of/like Cary Brothers.

You won't be sorry.

Jude..and I'm not talking about Law..

So I was listening to my ipod and the song "I do" from Jude comes on. It just got me thinking, "what has Jude been up to all these years"?

For those of you who do not know what I'm talking about, Jude is a singer/songwriter who I first discovered back in 1998 (my college days). The first cd that I bought of his was "No One is Really Beautiful". It was great. I was really into finding different music back then (and still am), but with so many new artists (for lack of a better word), sometimes it's hard to keep track of them all. Anyway, I believe the song that was popular back then was "I'm Sorry Now" and to me, it was new and different from what was on the radio and Jude had a way with his lyrics that were witty/honest, but still had you interested.

I remember going to see him at the Aladin with Stephanie (years ago) and it was a good show and we got him to sign our cd.

But I just had to post about it. If you're interested in learning more about Jude, go to http://www.judemusic.com/.

Enjoy.

Matt Nathanson

So, I've been getting into this artist, Matt Nathanson. For those of you who haven't heard of him, his songs have been in rotation on KINK - "Car Crash" and "Come on get higher". I guess if you like Lifehouse, The Fray, Coldplay, Counting Crows, you might like Matt's sound. Check him out at www.mattnathanson.com. He will be in town in November at the Aladin Theatre.

Meiko

For those of you who don't know Meiko, I advise you to go to your nearest store and purchase her cd or find her online at http://www.meikomusic.com/ (it is myspace affiliated) or on iTunes. She's labeled as Folk Rock/Indie.

She's been around, but I just don't get to sample music like I used to. I found out that she'll be playing at Imbibe on Hawthorne in a couple of weeks.
